Legally Blonde Musical

I went to the Legally Blonde Musical with some Army wives on Sunday and it was such a treat! It's nice to be near a larger city that has Broadway passing through from time to time. I highly recommend you go see it if it comes to a city near you. The songs were catchy and hilarious and the actors were amazing. Definitely a nice, girly getaway for an afternoon. :)

5 years and counting...

Friday, Jesse and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! Usually you think of a romantic dinner or getaway for an anniversary, but this year, plans changed a little. Due to Baby Cragwall and the sickness I have and CONTINUE to have, we ended up going to breakfast at Cracker Barrel and a movie matinee date and then coming back to the house and ordering take-out for dinner. We had a reservation at the Melting Pot, but who wants to spend that much money on a meal that more than likely I won't be able to keep down right now?! The one great thing about that day was that we were able to spend it together and above all, that is the most important thing. Oh, and the fact that he wasn't leaving the next day this year for a deployment...that helped in the "enjoyment" factor of our day. 5 years later, I love him even more and I'm so thankful I get to spend the rest of my life with Jesse. He's been so understanding and wonderful taking care of me while I've been sick and I appreciate that more than he could ever know. I love you Jesse!

Prayers Needed!!

Some of you may know, but my boss is currently out on maternity leave for her first child. Heidi had a pretty uneventful pregnancy until she reached 30 weeks. The doctors started noticing that she was gaining extra weight, which ended up being extra amniotic fluid. After 3 different amniocentesis procedures to eliminate usually up to 2 extra liters of fluid in her, she ended up having to have Baby Braden 4 weeks early on Tuesday of last week by c-section. Heidi came out of the surgery fine, but Braden did not. They noticed he wasn't moving from the waist down and that he had a tongue defect which prevented him from swallowing, explaining the extra fluid problems Heidi was having. About a day later, they transported him to the Vanderbilt NICU to figure out what was wrong with him. They have diagnosed Braden with Myotubular Myopathy, a neuromuscular disease that affects his ability to move voluntary muscles. Sadly, he hasn't been able to breathe on his own or swallow and this genetic disorder progressively gets worse, with a short life expectancy. We just got word that after long discussions with many specialists, Heidi and her husband have decided to make the painful decision of letting him go this coming Friday. Please pray for them as they deal with this awful situation, praying that God would supply them comfort during their grieving process. Also, her husband will most likely be deployed with the National Guard soon, so pray that they will have time as a couple and family to deal with the loss of Braden. Thank you.

Big Announcement...WE ARE PREGNANT!!!

It's officially happening - we are expanding our little family! I am 12 weeks pregnant as of this past weekend and we couldn't be more excited. We found out on Jesse's birthday (he claims it was his best present he's received so far) after a few months of trying. As of now, our due date is December 26th so Christmas will be spent here at Ft. Campbell this year! It works out great with Jesse's training schedule due to it being around the holidays, so I know my husband will be here for the birth. It's been amazing to see how happy Jesse is about having a baby in our lives and it gives me so much comfort to have him supporting me during this time. Sadly, I have been sick with morning sickness (except I have it ALL DAY LONG) since week 6 and it hasn't stopped yet. Please pray for this to end as it is very tough dealing with nausea when I have to work all day. I feel so bad that I haven't been able to cook much or take my lunch very often due to not knowing what I can eat later that day, much less and hour later. I've had my first ultrasound at 10 weeks and everything looked great. My next appointment is June 30th and that will be when we hear the heartbeat. We will keep everyone posted with this incredible addition in our family as we learn more, but I had to leave you with the picture of our little baby in the meantime. :)

Memorial Day Weekend in FL

We were able to spend Memorial Day weekend in FL with my family this year and it was a wonderful break from Army/Work life! We flew down Thursday night and spent most of Friday sleeping and lounging around the house with my parents. We had a great double date with our friends, Shari and Jason, at Beef O'Bradys. Saturday, we headed over to Orlando to meet up with some other friends, Chris & JJ West, for a yummy lunch in the downtown area. We got back in time to relax and have a cookout with my parents. Sunday, we headed to the other side of FL to Anna Maria Island to meet up with my bro, sis-in-law, aunt and uncle for a family lunch and some beach time. It was amazing to be over there on such a pretty day! Monday, we got some sun out by the pool, ate some lunch and headed back to the airport to catch our flight back home. I have been very forgetful lately and left my camera at home, so no pics of our visit this time. We are so thankful for little breaks like that to get away!
